Advanced production and post-production techniques including sync sound production and editing, music editing, and preparing for the final mix in 16mm and 35mm film production. Emphasis on individual student projects.
This course is an introduction to production and postproduction sound for various mediums including motion pictures, television, and new media. Basic techniques common to these mediums will be covered including analog and digital recording, audio editing, sound design, and mixing.
Teaches students the basic principles, aesthetics, and techniques required in the production of audio programs and soundtracks for video programs. Specific topics include digital recording and editing, selection and use of microphones, sound studio operation, multi-tracking, equalization, compression, mixing, editing, and synchronization with video. Industry standard software such as Pro Tools will be utilized. Hands-on practice with professional equipment is emphasized
